You’ve probably heard on the news that the Heartbleed Bug has compromised the security on millions of websites. You may need to be resetting passwords after Heartbleed Bug,  but how can you know if your site or websites that you use everyday have been affected?  Well, in today’s blog post, I thought I’d publish a list of some of the most popular websites out there that are potentially compromised so you can change your passwords, and then show you a great tool that you can run on your own website to make sure that it’s safe.

First, the grand list of websites that recommend you change your passwords:

• Facebook
• Instagram
• Pinterest
• Tumblr
• Google (including Gmail)
• Yahoo (including Yahoo! mail)
• Flickr
• Minecraft
• Netflix
• YouTube
• USAA
• Dropbox
• WordPress

Use Filipo.io to check your own website to verify that it’s up to snuff.  Just put your web address in the box on the home page and it will spit out the answer, either giving you the green light or giving you a warning that your site is vulnerable.  If you don’t pass, don’t beat yourself up.  It doesn’t mean that your passwords have been shown to the world, but it is an indication that you should take the needed precautions.

WordPress users, which is about 60% of the world, beware, because the Heartbleed Bug is specifically targeted at websites using open source code.  That’s why it’s highly recommended that you change your passwords as a first precaution and then consult your web developer about other steps that can be taken.  Hope that helps.
