Don’t lead Google (or your users) through a Doorway

This week, we’re highlighting another one of our favorite outdated trickeries in SEO: doorway pages. You can think of a doorway page essentially like a “bait and switch.” You optimize one page that will show up in search engines and get your users to click on your listing. They visit your page, looking for their information, and they find a link to “read more” about what they’re looking for. Now this seems all well and fine until BAM! They’ve landed on a different page that the webmaster really wanted them to go to.

Now that doesn’t seem fair does it? It’s not. And believe me when we say it behooves you to listen; don’t use them!
