Positive Results from Colorado to the Congo.
We want to create positive results, but not just for our clients. For us, “positive results” is more than a cliche mission statement. It’s about something bigger than what we do for our clients.
We’ve been tremendously blessed and giving back to the poor is important. That’s why we strive to provide positive results for those in need too. What could be more important than that? Our compassion to help orphans and underprivileged children in developing countries as well as assisting with disaster relief is what really fuels our fire.
We do this by volunteering and financially supporting organizations who are actively working in areas that are affected by natural disasters or the AIDS/HIV epidemic.
As a company and as individuals, we’re committed to helping. That’s why we have adopted and financially support multiple children living the Democratic Republic of Congo and in Brazil.
In 2011, a portion of every dollar earned by Red Rocket went to support Unicef’s Tap Project. For every $1 donation, we were able to give a child safe, clean drinking water for 40 days. 2011′s donations totaled 120,067 days of safe drinking water.
In 2012, we shifted our focus to Compassion International (a similar company, but with what we felt is a much larger impact). In developing nations, the average person uses between 2.64 and 5 gallons of water per day. This isn’t much water at all in comparison to the staggering 176 gallons of water that we use per day per person in the United States. Because of this, we decided it was time to find a new way to help bring even more clean water to these individuals.
With Compassion International’s “Water for Life” program, a simple $55 donation can bring clean water to one individual for life. It works by pouring dirty water into a filtering system (a system that can be set up and installed in five minutes). The system then filters the water for many bacterial contaminants, and helps prevent Cholera, Typhoid, E. Coli, Amoebic Dysentery, and others.
